- 1). Log in to your Gmail account, click on the "Gear" icon at the upper right-hand corner of the screen and select "Labs." A Web page with a large number of Gmail options appears.
- 2). Press "CTRL" and "F" to bring up your browser's Find box, and type "SMS" to find the SMS options. There are two; enable both of them. Scroll back to the top of the Web page and click "Save Changes." When Gmail reloads, there will be a box labeled "Send SMS" on the left side of Gmail.
- 3). Type your phone number into that box and press "Enter." Gmail will ask you for additional information about the contact, and when it's done, it will have a Gmail chat window opened up, which will send anything you type to your phone as an SMS message.
- 4). Find the chat you want to forward by typing enough text in the search box at the top of the Gmail window to identify it. Double-click on the chat log to open it, and then copy and paste the chat text window to send it to your phone.
