- 1). Locate the breaker switch for the garbage disposal. It may be in the same breaker on the kitchen "side" as the sink. Turn the breaker switch off.
- 2). Place the tip of the Allen wrench in the small hole directly on the center of the underside of the disposal housing. It should fit snugly.
- 3). Turn the Allen wrench clockwise until you feel it slow down or it meets resistance from the clog. This feeling will be due to the stuck food or item hitting the blades inside.
- 4). Turn the wrench counterclockwise until you feel it slow down or hit resistance. Continue this clockwise to counterclockwise process until there is no longer any resistance. If the resistance remains, proceed to Step 5; otherwise, proceed to Step 6.
- 5). Take a plunger and create a seal with it over the opening of the sink drain directly over the garbage disposal. Use enough downward force to push air into the disposal and through the pipes. Repeat a few times before proceeding.
- 6). Turn the breaker back on and locate the small reset button on the body of the garbage disposal. Press it once.
- 7). Open the faucet and allow water to run down the drain for a few minutes. With the water running, flip the disposal switch on and allow it to run for a few seconds to finish clearing the clog.
