- 1). Rinse your blue steel pan with hot water. Dry it with paper towels.
- 2). Season blue steel pans when you first buy them and occasionally after that. If food starts sticking a lot, it is time to reseason the pan. To season these pans, use a paper towel soaked with vegetable oil and rub the paper towel all over the interior of the pan. Heat the pan on the stove or place it in a hot over. Leave it until the pan is hot and then remove the pan and let it cool. Remove excess oil with a clean paper towel and repeat the procedure.
- 3). Allow the pan to heat up before placing food in it to cook. When cooking is complete, remove the food. Do not store food in the pans; doing so can lead to rusting.
- 4). Rinse pans out with hot water after cooking. Dry them with a soft towel before storing them.
