- 1). Start out by fertilizing your lawn quarterly. I prefer to use Scotts brand lawn and grass fertilizer. When choosing a lawn fertilizer, you want to look for one with a high nitrogen level. The nitrogen is what will keep your lawn and plants looking green.
- 2). Keep your lawn nicely mowed. Keeping your lawn mowed short, but not too short, will use less water.
- 3). In the Arizona and Nevada summers, set your sprinklers to be running 3 times per day.
- 4). Your 3 sprinkler cycles should be set for no more than 2 hours apart from each other.
- 5). You should run the sprinkler between 2am-6am, for 4-6 minutes per area or cycle.
Well, there you go, 5 easy steps to a great looking, green yard, even in the harshest Southwest summer!
