Take note of the wallet he has now, because men can be very particular about the style; see if it's a bi-fold or a tri-fold, then buy him the same general type he already carries. Wallets come in hundreds of different colors and materials; you could give him a funky duct-tape wallet, a wallet made of stainless steel or one made of sleek snakeskin with his name embossed on it in gold. Whatever style you decide on, slip a photo of the two of you into one of the picture windows; if you're splurging, fill up the rest of the slots with movie tickets and gift cards to coffee shops, fast food restaurants and his favorite clothing store.

• For an absolutely one-of-a-kind gift, sort through your photographs of the two of you until you find a dozen favorites and then make them into a calendar. You can print it out yourself, if you have a publishing program on your computer; have the photos blown up to 8-by-10-inch size and glue them to standard-sized sheets of paper, print the calendar grids and assemble the pages in order using staples, spiral combs or hole punches and yarn. It is also easy and inexpensive to design a calendar online and have it printed professionally. In either case, mark a "date night" in each month (tell him you will plan the date yourself) and remember to put hearts on your birthdays, anniversaries and other special dates.
