How to Make Pillar Candle Flower Arrangements

    • 1). Slice the bottom inch off all flower and greenery stems with a floral knife. Cut the stems at a sharp angle to encourage the flowers and greenery to drink efficiently. Place the cut flowers and greenery in water-filled buckets where they can remain hydrated as you assemble the arrangements.

    • 2). Submerge several bricks of floral foam in a water-filled bucket. Let the foam bricks become thoroughly saturated with water. Remove one brick of floral foam and position it in a low container. Use a floral knife to trim the foam to fit the container as needed.

    • 3). Insert a pillar candle into the center of the floral foam. Push the candle into the foam to a depth of at least 1½ inches so that it is firmly situated.

    • 4). Trim the stem of a piece of greenery to your desired length using a floral knife. Insert the greenery into the floral foam near the edge of the foam where it meets the rim of the container. Continue to place greenery around the perimeter of the floral foam, covering the rim of the container. Use long pieces of greenery to create a draping effect.

    • 5). Place some greenery into the top of the floral foam. Angle the greenery downward toward the table when you begin inserting it, then outward as you place it nearer to the pillar candle, then upward as you surround the pillar candle. Leave room to insert flowers into the foam. Use greenery as a foundation for the flowers.

    • 6). Trim a flower stem to your desired length. Insert it into the floral foam near the edge of the floral foam where it meets the rim of the container. Continue to insert flower stems into the floral foam. Echo the foundation of greenery with the flowers. Use long stems near the rim of the container for a draping effect. Angle the flowers downward toward the table when you begin inserting it around the rim of the container, then outward as you place them nearer to the pillar candle, then upward as you surround the pillar candle.

    • 7). Ensure that the floral foam is completely covered with greenery and flowers and is not visible from any angle. Use this process to make as many pillar candle flower arrangements as you desire.
