- Write out lists for everything. You will need grocery lists, cleaning supply lists, and chore lists. Make a list of things you need to make lists for. Create daily lists, weekly lists, monthly lists and annual lists. Keep these lists handy and be willing to add to them as needed.
- Create schedules for all the events in your life. Cleaning, ballet recitals, shopping, doctor appointments and soccer practices should all go on the schedules. Remember to write down the approximate time the events will take, including travel time. Space out the difficult tasks to avoid doing them all on the same day or consecutive days. Remember to schedule down time as well.
- Cut out everything in your life that is not absolutely necessary, from the extra accessories on your coffee table to the needless trips to the store for one item. Keep your home and your life running smoothly by not over-extending yourself and your family. Keep it as simple as life in this modern world will allow.
