- 1). Switch on the iPhone and tap the "Settings" icon on the display screen.
- 2). Tap the "General" option from the settings menu.
- 3). Tap the "Reset" button.
- 4). Tap "Erase All Content and Settings." Wait for the iPhone to remove all data from the device. This usually takes around one minute.
- 1). Plug the USB cable into the computer and the iPhone.
- 2). Launch Apple iTunes if it doesn't open automatically.
- 3). Click the iPhone from the "Devices" list in the left-hand panel of the iTunes window.
- 4). Click the "Summary" tab in the main program window and then click "Restore." Wait for the restore process to finish.
- 5). Click "Set Up As New" from the on-screen prompt. This registers the device as a new iPhone on iTunes and removes all backup information from iTunes.
