How to Check for Tread Wear on a Tire on a Plymouth Voyager

    • 1). Check your Voyager tires on the sidewall for a tread wear indicator. This is a symbol, arrow or a "TWI" indication that points to a certain portion of the tire tread.

    • 2). Look carefully at the tire tread where the tread wear symbol indicates. This appears as a more shallow portion of the tire tread and wears more quickly than the rest of the tire. It appears "bald" when the tire is in need of immediate replacement.

    • 3). Buy a tread wear gauge at your local auto parts store if your tires do not have tread wear indicators.

    • 4). Take at least five readings across the width of each tire, taking note of any readings less than 1/16 of an inch.

    • 5). Replace any tires with less than a 1/16 of an inch tread left at any spot on the tire tread. You need 215/65-15 sized tires or 215/65-16 sized tires, depending on the wheel size on your Voyager.
