- 1). Write down a list of symptoms that you are experiencing. People suffering from CFS are excessively tired even after sleeping or resting. Other symptoms of CFS include the inability to focus, forgetting things, muscle pains and aches, swelling and redness around the joints, sore throats, and headaches.
- 2). Make an appointment with your primary care physician. Tell the doctor about your symptoms. The doctor will give you a physical exam along with urine and blood tests. According to Medic8.com, the criteria that doctors use to diagnose CFS includes someone suffering from four or more symptoms mentioned in Step 1 or someone who has been excessively tired for six months or longer.
- 3). Ask your doctor for a referral to a CFS specialist.
- 4). Ask for referrals from other care providers. If you are seeing a massage therapist, physical therapist, chiropractor, or other type of health care provider, ask for recommendations for CFS specialists.
