Lay your velour clothing on a flat work surface. Brush the entire surface, moving with the nap, with a suede brush. Continue to brush the velour to loosen and remove dried dirt.

    • 2). Remove the loosened dirt by vacuuming off the velour garment with a hand vacuum. Move with and against the grain of the velour fabric to get dirt out of the fabric fibers.

    • 3). Pour 2 cups warm water into a bucket. Add 1 tablespoon dishwashing detergent. Stir the solution together with a spoon.

    • 4). Dampen a sponge with the detergent solution. Squeeze out excess liquid. Blot the remaining dirt stains on your velour garment to remove the dirt.

    • 5). Rinse the velour fabric by blotting it with a damp cloth. Pat the velour dry with another cloth.

    • 6). Hang your velour garment on a padded hanger. Dry the garment in a well-ventilated area out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources.

    • 7). Treat lingering odor from dirt by sprinkling baking soda over the velour garment. Let the baking soda absorb the smell overnight. Vacuum the garment to remove the baking soda.
