- 1). Vacuum the velour fabric with the upholstery attachment of a vacuum cleaner to remove all the dry and loose debris. This will prevent dirt and dust from damaging the fabric when you wet it. If the velour fabric is not upholstery, simply shake it to remove debris.
- 2). Dampen a white cloth in clear water, and press it over the stain. Work from the stain's edges toward the center to ensure you don't spread the stain. Work until the stain is gone or until it is as light as possible.
- 3). Apply one drop of mild, liquid dish soap to the cloth, and rub it into the stain. Dab the stain until it is gone. Use soap that doesn't contain dye.
- 4). Press a damp cloth into the velour to remove the soap. Rub the cloth in the direction of the nap.
- 5). Dry the velour with a hair dryer on low heat.
- 6). Brush the velour with a soft-bristled brush to remove any dried soap residue and restore the fabric's nap and texture.
