- 1). Create a simple image that you would like to use as the divider for your blog. This can be as basic as a single bar or as complex as a row of graphics themed to your blog topic. For example, in a blog about cooking, you may want to use a fork lying horizontally as a divider. If you write about cars, a stretch of roadway could work. Make sure the background of the graphic either matches the background of your sidebar, or is transparent so it doesn't stand out.
- 2). Save your divider image as a JPG file. Note where you save it so you can pull it up again easily.
- 3). Log in to your blogger account and select the blog that you want to make edits to. Click the "Design" tab to view the current layout for your blog. You see a representation of your page with small labeled boxed showing where each page element on your blog is currently located.
- 4). Click the "Add a Gadget" link in the sidebar section of the page layout. This opens a window with a multitude of options for sidebar gadgets.
- 5). Select "Picture" from the list of available gadgets. Select the divider image you've created on your computer and upload it to your blog. Leave the title, caption and link sections blank.
- 6). Drag the new "Picture" box on your blog layout to the desired location between page elements. Repeat Steps 4 and 5 to place additional dividers in the sidebar.
