Clogged Neck Arteries - Your Options For the Treatment

Clogged neck arteries commonly happen when we get older.
The severity can be varies.
This neck or carotid arteries are the two main blood vessels to the brain.
People who suffer from this conditions doesn't always develop a symptom, some of them may not feel a thing.
The blockage can lead to mini stroke or major stroke.
Any of the treatments are intended to prevent clogged neck arteries become a stroke.
Clogged neck or carotid arteries happen when the blood stream gets blocked by plaques.
These plaques will narrow the arteries and cause the blood to clot.
The clots and plaques that form in that area can prevent the blood, nutrients, oxygen to flow to the brain.
That's when the clogging occurs that lead to a strokes.
Before you do any treatment, you need to know if you really have clogged neck arteries.
Your doctor can help to diagnose your conditions by evaluating your medical history, perform a physical examination (the blood pressure, pulse and checking for a bruit) and more intense tests (carotid duplex or ultrasound, stress tests, EKG, and/or echocardiography).
Any symptoms that you may experience should be told to your doctor.
Some of the clogged neck arteries treatment can be divided to surgical and non surgical method.
Your treatment may vary based on the severity of the blockage, your health condition, and the symptoms.
You should consider doing overall treatment because when your neck arteries get clogged, you may have them in other areas.
Surgery may include carotid endarterectomy (it opens the clogged neck artery and removes the plaque), and carotid angioplasty and stenting (it inflates a tiny balloon at the end of a long hollow tube within the clogged artery, then inserts a wire-mesh metal stent, so the arteries will stay wide open).
Surgery should only be carried out in relatively healthy asymptomatic patients with 80-90% clogged conditions, that what many vascular surgeons and I believe.
Non surgical method can include medication or drugs, healthy diet, exercise, reduce or even stop your smoking habit, control your diabetes and cholesterol, get a support from a health supplement, and anything that lower your risk factor to have clogged arteries.
Doing combination can give you a significant result and a lot of faster.
You may realize that the clogged neck arteries or any other areas don't happen overnight.
It happens through a long process.
I think it's very important to keep your life in control all the time.
These days, supplements have bigger influence on people health.
You should take advantages from them also.
