- 1). Remove the globe surrounding your incandescent bulbs, if they are not already exposed. This is normally accomplished by unscrewing three or four screws, counter-clockwise, on the base of the light with just your fingers.
- 2). Unscrew the incandescent bulb and look at the end for its wattage rating.
- 3). Purchase CFL bulbs that offer the equivalent wattage. This information should be boldly printed on the package.
- 4). Hold the CFL bulb by the base, to avoid breaking the glass bulb, and screw it clockwise into the light socket.
- 5). Replace the globe, if required, and secure by twisting the screws in a clockwise direction.
