I was watching Oprah one day and she was talking about different things we could do to help save planet earth.
Well I was surprised to find out that just because I power off my computer, televisions, DVD, microwave, and most other electronic devices in my home, they are still using electricity! This made since once it dawned on me that most of these things have built in clocks.
Well, one of the most economical ways that I learned about to help conserve energy while saving money on my electric bill was to start plugging all of my electronic devices into power strips.
Now when I click the power strips off, it stops all electricity flow.
I went to Home Depot and found power strips for as low as $2.
99 each! This was the regular price.
I noticed that the prices varied depending on the brand, wattage needed, and how long the cord was.
At this price, I am personally committed to switching over my entire house to power strips.
I know that I will see the savings immediately in my electric bill.
To get started with this tip, simply purchase some power strips if you don't have any or not enough of them.
Next, simply remember to switch the power strips off when (1) you are not using the electronic device; (2) you leave home; and (3) you go to bed at night.
I must personally say thank you to Oprah and her guest for sharing this simple, but earth savings, tip with me and all of your other viewers.
