- Dissolve 1 tsp. regular gelatin into 1 cup of warm water. Mix it together until a thick paste forms. Within minutes, you can create hair cement that is both inexpensive and chemical-free.
- Store your hair cement in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to a week. The longer the hair cement is in the refrigerator, the more solid it becomes. If it becomes too firm to use, add a little warm water and mix it before each application.
- Apply the hair cement as you do any hair gel. The best method is to apply it directly before or after styling your hair. Work it into your hair with your hands, then use a fine-toothed comb or brush to smooth it out and disperse it evenly.
- Homemade hair cement is easy to remove. Just wash your hair using regular shampoo. Depending on how much cement you apply to your hair, you may need to wash it more than once to get it entirely clean.
