How to Tune a Motorcycle Carburetor

    • 1). Take the carburetor out from the main body of the engine. There is a specific technique to doing this. Remove the fuel from the carburetor bowl. Proceed to clean the bowl. Remove the bolts and backing plate,s and then take off the choke cable.

    • 2). Put the throttle cables down. One at a time, disassemble every single little part. It is not necessary to open up the throttle cables completely. After the carburetor bowl is cleaned using the carburetor cleaner, adjust the throttle cables to the correct location. Then reset the arrangement.

    • 3). Fix up and reassemble the cables with the cleaned carburetor bowl. Make sure that you do not misplace a cable. Try to fit the cables into their exact correct spots.

    • 4). Handle the wiring system attached to the carburetor cables carefully. Make sure to not damage the fine metal wires. If the metal wires are damaged in this process, you will have to replace them.

    • 5). Since your carburetor has now been tuned and everything is back in place, it's a good idea to test out the motorcycle briefly just to make sure everything is in proper working order. If everything seems to be working fine and your motorcycle is running smoothly, it looks like you've just successfully tuned your carburetor.
