- 1). Move the riding mower to a level area and park the mower. Use the operator controls to lower the deck to its lowest position and place the mower clutch in the "Disengage" position.
- 2). Grab the belt and roll the belt of the engine drive pulley. The drive pulley is in front of the mower deck. You do not need to remove the deck belt to remove the drive belt from the mower.

Pull the retaining cotter pin away from the clutch rod to disconnect from the clutch lever. All of the cotter pins should pull out by hand. If necessary you can use a pair of pliers to open and pull the cotter pins out.
- 4). Disconnect the anti-sway bar from the chassis bracket by pulling the retaining cotter pin out of the sway bar. The anti-sway bar is at the rear of the mower the deck.
- 5). Disengage the chassis suspension arms above the mower deck from the deck by removing the retaining cotter pin from each arm. Disconnect the front links connecting the front rod arms to the mower deck by pulling the cotter pins out close to the deck.
- 6). Use the operator controls to raise the suspension arms. This will clear the suspension arms from the mower deck. Grab the deck from the chute side and pull the deck from under the mower.
