- 1). Use a balancing level to make sure your forms, or molds, are level when you set them, before you pour the concrete. If your form isn't level, your pour won't be either.
- 2). Make a screed board by cutting a two-by-four 1 foot longer than the width of your form. You will use your screed board after you've poured your concrete.
- 3). Mix your concrete according to the directions on your concrete mix. Pour it into your form. To insure an even pour, move the concrete around with a hoe or a rake.
- 4). Balance the screed board on the edges of your form and start sliding on the edges, from the top to the bottom of the form. This will remove excess concrete and level the project.
- 5). Smoothen the concrete further with a wood float, for an even finish.
