In this short article, I am going to share with you the 4 steps I personal follow while writing articles to ensure my readers receive value add and are compelled to click through to my web site.
1) The best articles always have a compelling heading since the heading is your readers' first interaction with your article. Depending how well your heading succeeds in doing its job your reader will chose to click to read or go look elsewhere. So what is a compelling title? A title should always aim to arouse an interest with your reader by informing them of what they are going to learn but should also leave room for curiosity.
2) Your intro paragraph should aim to compliment your heading to ensure your reader gets even more hooked into continuing through to the end of the article. If your article doesn't deliver what it promised then your reader is likely to feel cheated and will very quickly lose interest and again, will immediately click out of your article and go looking elsewhere.
3) Once your reader gets past the intro paragraph then they have made a commitment to continue reading, so it's your duty to ensure they remain interested and you achieve that by providing useful information they can use and apply themselves. However, avoid overload. It's difficult, if not impossible, to teach everything about a topic in a single article and if you have a lot to share then its best to split up the information as subtopics.
4) At the end of the article you should include a call to action in your bio as opposed to simply adding your name and accomplishments. Invite the reader to click through to your site for more information on the topic or related topics by adding a link to your web site. After the call to action place your bio information and your link again.
