- There are many different animation tools from which you can choose when creating a PowerPoint presentation. Animations can make your slideshow more interesting for your audience. You can add transitions to your slides, as well as object entrance and exit animations. Some of these include Color Typewriter, Fly Out and Newsflash.
- There are several effects you can choose from for animating the entrance of an object (including text boxes) into your PowerPoint slide. Checkerboard, Color Typewriter and Pinwheel are some of your choices. When you select Checkerboard, the object assembles itself via alternating white and black squares. When the Color Typewriter effect is added to any text, the text appears on the screen in different colors, as though typed by an unseen hand. Apply the Pinwheel effect, and an object appears small at first, spinning until it reaches full size.
- If you want to animate the exit of an object or text box from your slide, two choices are Box and Fly Out. Apply the Box animation and an object shrinks down into smaller and smaller box shapes, gradually disappearing from the slide. Use Fly Out and the object disappears by flying away from the bottom of the slide.
- The transition animations are applied to entire slide, rather than objects or text boxes. The animation selected displays up as a new slide appears. Transition animations include--among others--Fade Smoothly and Newsflash. Use Fade Smoothly and your slide fades into view. The slide spins around as it appears with Newsflash.
