- 1). Attach one 10-inch piece of PVC pipe to each outlet of one T joint. Repeat this process with the other T joint and pieces of 10-inch PVC pipe. The third opening on each T joint should be pointing up. This creates two separate T segments.
- 2). Attach a 1-inch elbow joint to each end of the two 20-inch long pieces of 1-inch diameter PVC pipe. This uses each piece of 1-inch diameter PVC cut to 20-inch lengths as well as all four 1-inch elbow joints.
- 3). Push one of the T segments into one of the elbow joints on a 20-inch PVC segment. Push the other T segment into the remaining elbow joint on the 20-inch segment.
- 4). Attach the other 20-inch PVC segment to each T-segment at their elbow joints. Once you have attached this piece to the rest, the combined pieces should create a square-shaped base, with sides made of 20-inch PVC segments opposite each other and T segments opposite each other.
- 5). Insert one 40-inch piece of PVC pipe into the opening on each T joint on your base. Now you should have a square-shaped base with two long poles extending upwards.
- 6). Attach a 1-inch to 1/2-inch elbow joint to the top of each pole, with the openings of the pole pointing towards one another. This step uses your remaining elbow joints.
- 7). Insert the 20-inch long, 1/2-inch diameter PVC pipe into the openings of the elbow joints. This creates the perch for your cockatiel to sit on in the shower. Wrap this piece with gauze wrapping to give it more grip when your cockatiel perches on it in the water.
- 8). Check each joint and connection on your new shower perch to ensure that everything is connected tightly and properly. If there is no danger of any piece popping out of place, the perch is ready for use.
