Dacor Range Troubleshooting

Not Working/Heating

If your Dacor range won't turn on, ensure that your power is on and that your power cord is connected to the outlet. Check your circuit breaker and fuses. Change any blown fuse, and reset your circuit breaker. If your oven is not getting any heat, see that you don't have the delay timer set and that you have the oven on the right setting. Your oven normally should turn off after 12 hours if you have the 12-hour timer set.

The flames on your gas burner will look large and/or yellow if your burner parts are not installed properly or if they are dirty. If that doesn't solve the issue, check that your gas regulator is working properly. Your range is set up to work with either natural gas or liquid propane. Only use the correct type of gas. If your gas igniter sparks after you light the flame, check for drafts and close windows or shut off fans. Your igniter normally will spark if your burner is cold. Dry and clean any dirty or wet igniter or burner parts. Ensure that your power supply is correctly grounded and that the polarity is not reversed. Inspect your air intake holes for clogs if your flame won't stay on at a low setting, and see that you have enough gas in your tank.

If your food under- or over-cooks, check your temperature setting and change the rack position. Your oven indicator light normally will turn on and off and the fan will come on after you turn off your oven. Condensation usually appears on your oven door in cold weather. If you smell an odor in your oven, clean it. If the oven self-cleaning setting will not start, ensure that the door is completely shut and that the meat probe is connected to the oven. Check your settings, and shut off the delay timer if it is on.

If your bulb light will not come on, ensure that the oven is not in the self-clean mode, and replace the bulb. If the oven door won't open, the oven is in the self-clean position. Let the oven finish the cycle before trying to reopen the door. The time on your display will flash or be incorrect when the power goes out. Try resetting your time information.
