- 1). Buy a basket or use one that you already have at home to use as your gift basket. The basket can be as small or large as you like, depending on how many items you plan to include in your basket.
- 2). Fill the bottom of the basket with colored shredded tissue paper. Use the favorite color of the recipient or a simple cream that can be used for men, women or a couple. The tissue will act as decoration but also protect delicate items in your basket.
- 3). Buy loose tea leaves to include in your basket. Be adventurous and choose a variety of tea types such as earl gray, fruit infused or green teas. For a rustic feel, put the tea leaves into clear glass jars and finish with a ribbon and label. These will not only be practical but will brighten up any kitchen space.
- 4). Include a tea strainer in the gift basket. Purchase a book about Tessomancy, the art of reading tea leaves. Reading tea leaves is an ancient practice which involves interpreting the formation of tea leaves at the bottom of a cup.
- 5). Purchase a fine china cup and saucer. Drinking tea from a fine china cup makes the experience more of an occasion and many tea drinkers believe that tea tastes better from a china cup.
- 6). Include a tea pot that compliments the décor of the recipient's kitchen. Tea pots are available in all manner of styles from ultra modern chrome to floral and kitsch.
- 7). Bake a batch of homemade cookies to include in the basket. Although fancy cookies could be bought from a store, baking them yourself shows that care and attention have gone into your gift. Put the cookies into a small box and tie with a ribbon.
- 8). Finish your basket with a small personal gift tag. Include a little poem or quote about tea as a light-hearted touch.
