Mild Depression In Young Women

Depression, a silent epidemic, has taken its toll on more peoplethan is generally known.
With more and more people comingunder the heavy yoke of depression especially as stress in dailylife is increasing, it has become ever more necessary for the righthelp in coping with the pain it causes.
Depression in women is very common, and young women are notimmune to this pervasive mood disorder.
Depression symptoms form a long list, and usually the actual symptoms of depression in women are quite similar to those of depression in men.
However, in many young women, the symptoms can be a bit more difficult to pinpoint, especially if they are generally by nature quiet and shy.
Being on guard and recognizing the symptoms can be the first step to targeting the reasons for depression and dealing with this menace before it turns into something more major.
Identifying Depression In Young Women The symptoms of depression in women include the following:
  1. A persistent sad, empty or anxious mood.
  2. Irritability, restlessness or excessive crying.
  3. Loss of interest or pleasure in activities that might have once been loved.
  4. Over-eating or loss of appetite.
  5. Over-sleeping or insomnia.
  6. Fatigue, decreased energy or the inability to go on.
  7. Feelings of guilt, hopelessness or worthlessness.
  8. Difficulty in concentrating or making decisions.
  9. Difficulty going about daily tasks and handling everyday activities.
  10. Headaches, chronic pain and digestive disorders that do not respond to treatment.
  11. Withdrawing from social settings and the feeling of not wanting to mingle with friends.
  12. Thoughts of suicide or suicide attempts.
In many cases, thoughts of suicide do not appear until the depressive symptoms turn from mild to severe depression.
However, in many cases, mild depression is also known to trigger feelings of worthlessness where the sufferer begins to ponder on the worth of life itself.
Mild depression over a long period of time could be indicative of a condition known as dysthymia, which refers to having a mild to moderate depressed mood for most of the day on most days of the year, for about two years.
Depression symptoms can be very debilitating.
If left unchecked when mild, these symptoms can escalate into severe depression.
Mild depression in young women should not be ignored, and if you or anyone you love has these symptoms, it is vital to identify these and get help to deal with it before it becomes out of hand.
