Russian traders and soldiers founded Sitka, and the town's onion domes and old Russian Orthodox cemeteries still give a nod to its Russian origins. Sitka is located in the southeastern part of the state, and many fishing lodges are located in and around the town to provide anglers a variety of choices in lodging and amenities. - Sitka Seaside Lodge is located right beside Sitka National Historical Park. The Seaside Lodge selects the best area charters for king salmon, silver salmon, halibut, rockfish and cod fishing.

Lodging is provided through a series of rooms at the main lodge as well as at the "front house" and some cabins. Free Wi-Fi Internet service is available in the lodge for all guests, and rates include food, lodging, fishing charters, and the cleaning and packing of any fish you catch. The lodge is open from May to mid-September. Salmon and halibut are the main focus of the lodge's professional charter, but visiting anglers also have the opportunity to catch rockfish, lingcod and shark.
