Colorado is known for its beautiful landscape of mountains, plains, and canyons, but it also offers some great places to party. Denver, Colorado's largest city, has many big nightclubs, as well as more intimate venues, the hippest located in the downtown LoDo district, according to website, Denver.com. There are also several clubs in Colorado Springs, the state's second largest city. - The Church is a former place of worship built in 1865 that is now, according to the CoClub website, "home to dance worshipers." Open Thursday through Sunday, the unique venue features high-beamed Gothic architecture and stained-glass windows. Resident DJs play hip-hop, Top 40, alternative, and industrial. Internationally-known DJs such as Deadmau5 and DJ Jazzy Jeff also perform special gigs there. There is a Sushi Bar at the venue, which opens at 9 p.m. Women over 21 are sometimes allowed into the club free before 11 p.m. while men generally have to pay a cover charge.
