Everglades City Motel

• Located in Everglades City, just eight miles from Ochopee, the Everglades City Motel offers standard rooms as well as efficiency units. Standards come with two double beds, refrigerator, microwave and coffee service. Efficiencies add additional living space, a stocked kitchenette and can comfortably accommodate four people. The motel does not allow pets. Rates on weekends and holidays tend to be higher. Guests will find some of Florida's best fishing in the area and there are several local tour companies offering boating trips through the glades. • The River Wilderness Waterfront Villas sits on the Barron River and offers apartment-style accommodation at a daily, weekly or monthly rate. The villas are just eight miles from Ochopee. The one-bedroom unit features a large living space, private bedroom, full bathroom and a stocked kitchen. The two-bedroom units also have two bathrooms. Both units offer a screened-in waterfront deck. The villas have a swimming pool, dock space, boat ramp and free canoe rental. Breakfast is complimentary. Captain's Table Lodge and Villas

• The Captain's Table is located in Everglades City, the stone crab capital of the United States. Fresh stone crab is available from October 15 through May 15 each year. The Captain's Table offers two-bedroom suites and one-bedroom villas. Standard rooms feature two double beds, a screened porch and mini-refrigerator. The suites are 800-square-feet and located in the main lodge, featuring a full kitchen, two bathrooms and sleeping accommodations for four. The villas are located separate from the main building and feature a full kitchen, bath, living room and bedroom. All units have a screened porch. Dining options near the Captain's Table include the Everglades Seafood Depot and the Island Cafe, both serving seafood and American cuisine.
  
  

Port of the Island Hotel

• Located 12 miles to the west of Ochopee, off East Tamiani Trail, the Port of the Island Hotel is only 15 minutes by car or a few hours by boat via several meandering rivers and bayous. A full-service resort, the Port of the Islands features a large pool, skeet and trap ranges, a fitness center and access to a marina. The huge lobby is reminiscent of old Florida resorts and days gone by. Hotel rates vary by season with winter rates being the highest and summer offering the best deals. Rooms have either two double beds or a single king each with a kitchenette. The hotel offers free Wi-Fi. A complimentary full breakfast is offered daily. The on-site Port of The Islands Restaurant is open for dinner and brunch.
