- 1). Measure the width from limb tip to limb tip on your crossbow. Cut a piece of paracord twice as long as your measurements.
- 2). Tie a 3-inch diameter loop on both ends of the cord. Note that you can also use braided portions of paracord or leather pouches in place of the tied end-loops. However, these methods are better suited when stringing longbows or recurve bows.
- 3). Ensure that no bolts are loaded in the crossbow rack. Position the crossbow upright -- aiming at the ceiling -- with the strings pointing at the ground.
- 4). Slip one bowstring loop through the string slot on the left limb. Lay the other string near the right limb.
- 5). Slip the looped ends of the bow stringer over both ends of the crossbow limbs. Ensure that the paracord is hanging toward the floor.
- 6). Hold the crossbow firmly. Step on the center of the hanging paracord. This will apply pressure to the limbs and relax them enough for you to slip the other end of the bowstring into position on the right limb.
