- The history of this city is so intense and long that the best way to become acquainted with the thriving metropolis is to take a walking tour that weaves its way through the two formed divisions, East and West Berlin. Most tours will cover the big sites such as the Berlin Wall, Checkpoint Charlie, the Reichstag and the Brandenberg Gate. It is advisable to take a tour that is at least four hours long.

- The Gemaldegalerie is the the gallery of Old Masters and here in Berlin you will find one of the best collections of Renaissance, Gothic and Baroque paintings on the Continent. The building is new and vast and now the famous collection that was hidden underground during the war is now on display for all the general public to see. The display is vast and worth the visit. This museum is located near the Potsdamer Platz.
- This part of town that was once part of East Berlin has returned to its former glory, now that the city is united. Here you will find a smorgesborg of nightclubs, restaurants and coffeehouses that provide fun entertainment for travelers. There are even quite a few economically-priced, clean and popular hostels in the area that can provide a cheap bed in a bunk room if you wish to stay overnight. Take the U-2 line to the Rosenthaler Platz and you will find the beginning of this fun section of Berlin.
- The Berlin Music Hall has some of the best acoustics in the world. Fortunately, the place also has the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra as well as other performances to satisfy the whims of any visitor. Also located to newly rejuvenated Potsdamer Platz, this fine music hall is located amidst an array of hotels, museums and department stores.
