- 1). Consult with the Wooster City Board of Education. All projects first must be approved by that body.
- 2). Familiarize yourself with the building site, and assess costs associated with a construction project, such as labor and supply costs. All must be included in the bid submitted to the district.
- 3). Attend any prebid meetings the school district schedules. The project construction manager, which is appointed by the district, should provide notice about the meetings to all prospective bidders. During the meetings, the manager will answer questions you may have about the project.
- 4). Submit the bid on the OSFC's bid form. The district's treasurer accepts all bids.
The form can be found in the commission's Standard Conditions of Contract at its website, or in the offices. The document must be enclosed in an envelope indicating a bid is inside and the date the bid is to be opened. The bidder is required to list all unit prices. - 5). Show up for the unsealing of bids. The school division will set a date to open all bids, and the project will be awarded thereafter, pending approval of the school system. You must enter a contract within 10 days of notice you have won the bid.
