- 1). Place the filter on the ground near where the black hose connection protrudes from the pool. If the pool is full at this point, drain it to just below the lowest hose connection.
- 2). Insert the strainers into each of the two hose connections on the side of the pool. If the plugs are still in the hose connections, twist them counterclockwise to remove them. Place the strainer through the hole from the inside of the pool so that the long tube part of it sticks outside of the pool.
- 3). Slide a hose over to back end of the strainers. Slide a clamp over the end of each hose and use a screwdriver to tighten the clamp around the hose.
- 4). Connect the hose leading from the top pool connector to the bottom connector on the pump. Connect the other hose to the top connector on the pump. Tighten each connection with a clamp.
- 5). Rotate the air valve on the very top of the unit counterclockwise to release it.
- 6). Fill the pool with water up to about 1 or 2 inches above the top hose connector. The pump will begin filling with water as well. When water begins to flow out of the air-release valve at the top of the unit, rotate the release valve clockwise to tighten it.
- 7). Connect the filter to a GFCI outlet and it will begin operating.
