- 1). Spray hair with heat protectant and comb to evenly distribute the product.
- 2). Part your hair with a comb to the right side, so that most of your front section is on the right.
- 3). Secure the top half of your hair into a ponytail with a ponytail holder, and leave the bottom half loose, as it is to be curled first.
- 4). Pull 1 1/2 inch-wide sections of hair from the bottom section and curl with a curling iron. Twist the iron away from your face so that every curl goes outward.
- 5). Remove the ponytail holder and repeat the curling technique on the top half.
- 6). Spray the hair with hairspray.
- 7). Apply a shine serum to the hair shaft once the curls have cooled, and gently finger-comb the curls to create the signature California wave-curls that Conrad normally wears.
- 8). Pull 2 inches of the top section of hair on the left side of the part back, and secure it with a decorative clip. Some pieces of hair should be loose in the front.
