- 1). Focus on the view. If your house has fantastic views of mountains, canyons, or city skylines, don't try & compete with them. Instead, show it off. Gray walls will draw the eye towards any spot of color, in this case the fantastic landscape, essentially turning it into artwork.
- 2). Treat it as a neutral. If you try to match the gray color you may end up with too many dreary colors. Most everything goes with gray if you think outside the box. treat gray the same way that you would treat taupe or white. Pair it with pink, yellow or blue.
- 3). If you are going to go gray, go gray. If you are scared of the color & choose a very subtle gray, it can look dirty & like a beige paint job went horribly wrong. Use a mid tone of gray that will contrast nicely with white furniture. Paint the molding white to really make the color pop & look intentional.
- 4). Painting a room gray is a great update if you have a red couch that you don't love anymore. It makes it look like you bought the couch to be a pop of color. This also works well if you shop at thrift stores & fall in love with a funky velvet sectional.
