First Line Managemen: E Pluribus Umum?

E Pluribus Unum? When my spiritual gyroscope begins to wobble or spin out of control I turn back to inspiring words.
Words that return it to a proper spin.
These words most times come from the bible.
I am told, in the modern world, that these words are not trustworthy; or, actually do not mean what I think them to mean.
I can read them again unfiltered by what others tell me.
I regain my stability.
What do we turn to when our country's gyroscope is out of control? Our country was founded on a spiritual liberal belief.
When we read in the Declaration of Independence the words, "All men are created equal" what they meant in the document written to the king of England is much different from what we are told they mean today.
In the context of the declaration, the words simply meant no man because of their "Divine Right" has the right to rule.
This was considered the most liberal document of the time.
Now, much of our founder's words are being discounted.
Our national gyroscope is wobbling and needs stability.
I decided to begin reading" The federalist Papers".
What a stabilizing influence to me.
Just reading the first two.
I am assured that my further study of these papers I will find the fundamental unifying thoughts of our founders.
In number two; John Jay writes, "With equal pleasure I have often taken notice, that Providence has been pleased to give this one connected country to one united people- a people descended from the same ancestors speaking the same language, professing the same religion, attached to the same principles of government, very similar in their manners and customs, and who, by their joint counsels, arms, and efforts, fighting side by side throughout a long and bloody war, have nobly established general liberty and independence.
" I know we cannot say this about our country today.
But the common issue that should bind us is, "attached to the same principles of government.
" John Jay says, "This country and people seem to have been made for each other...
" Can we say this today? Are we so divided by individual needs and desires; that these, override any uniting principle as stated in the above paragraph? Are we a country and a people made for each other? Will we be divided and conquered? Maybe we can learn the answer if we turn back to our liberal founders words.
Liberal in the truest meaning; the right of free people to govern themselves.
Citizens united in the belief of the freedom of an individual to find happiness in a free country.
Belief in our individual freedoms.
Belief in the greatness of our unique country.
Belief in the great founding principles of government I am sure I will find more in reading "The Federalist Papers" that assure me in the uniqueness of our great country.
The writer's thoughts unfiltered for me by others.
I encourage each of us to read these papers.
