A girl's Sweet 16 party isn't like any other birthday event. It's a special milestone that requires a new dress and a new hairstyle different from any other day or party. Stand out on your day with a more formal hairstyle that doesn't have to be complicated to look beautiful. - After washing and drying the hair, straighten it with a flatiron. Pull up the sides and leave the back hanging down, creating a half up, half down updo. Tease the crown a little bit to provide some volume for your updo, which will give it that special touch. Use bobby pins to secure the hair, and spray a little hairspray to keep the style in place.
- A popular celebrity style is an updo that incorporates braids. Section off a one-inch piece of hair on each side of your head. If you have a lot of hair and want more braids, you can do two or more sections on each side of your head. Twist the rest of your hair into a messy, low bun and secure it with bobby pins. Now braid the sections of hair left separately and pin them into the bun.
- Curls always add something special to hair. There are many options. You can use a curling iron, hot rollers or Velcro rollers. A small-barreled curling iron or hot rollers will add tighter, more ringlet-style curls. Velcro rollers are used to add body to fine hair. Curl your hair all over, and for added sparkle clip in a rhinestone hair clip, flower or pretty tiara. Use hairspray to keep your style holding throughout the evening.
