- 1). Push down the latch on the top cover of the motor, lift the back edge of the cover and slip the front edge off the hooks. Set the cover aside.
- 2). Move the floor crane over the motor. Insert the crane's hook into the lifting ring on the top-center of the motor. Lift the motor with the crane.
- 3). Move the crane and motor to the transom of the boat. Raise the floor crane so that the motor mount is high enough to clear the boat's transom. Lower the motor mount over the transom, taking care to line up the four 1-inch mounting holes in the motor mount with the mounting holes in the transom.
- 4). Slip the 1-inch mounting bolts through the mounting bracket and transom, from the inside of the boat to the outside. Slide the washers onto the bolts and thread the nuts onto the bolts. Torque the bolts to 55 pound-feet (75 Nm).
- 5). Ease the line on the crane slightly, allowing the transom to take the weight of the engine. Re-torque the bolts to 55 pound-feet, if required. Slack the crane, remove the hook from the motor's lifting ring and secure the floor crane.
