Dakota Alert WMA-3000 Wireless Driveway Alarm Reviewed

Home security has never been more important than it is today.
If you grew up in the fifties or sixties you might remember not even locking your home and leaving the keys in the ignition (or above the visor) of the car.
Times have changed and so have attitudes.
The Dakota Alert WMA-3000 wireless driveway alarm is on the cutting edge of an industry meant to keep you safe.
Dakota Alert, Inc.
is a small, family run business out of South Dakota.
Necessity being the mother of invention, the company was started as a result of the family wanting to know' "who was coming up the lane.
" Their home was located in South Dakota prairie country which provides plenty of solitude and isolation.
They figured out how to rig up a driveway alert system to deliver a heads-up to a receiver back at the house whenever a vehicle was approaching.
It worked great...
No more unannounced visitors.
It worked so well, in fact, that word got around and others wanted one! As a result of their dedication to the highest quality manufacturing (backed up by uncompromising service), Dakota has become the leading maker of wireless alert products.
Their equipment allows you to monitor your property and premises and will alert you to any intrusion.
Their units work coming right out of the box and are easily installed and operated.
The alert system is comprised of a transmitter and a receiver.
The transmitter sends out an invisible infrared beam which, when activated by a vehicle or a person entering the covered area, sends a signal to the receiver, which then sounds an alarm.
More transmitters can be added to cover more areas and up to four zones can be handled simultaneously.
This is an ideal way of protecting your home or business and to prevent you from getting caught unaware.
It's especially convenient for those living in wide-open rural areas but works well in just about any residential application.
The infrared detecting beam is effective to about eighty feet, but is somewhat dependent on local terrain.
The transmitter and receiver can be separated by as much as 600 feet.
A portable receiver is also available that is compact and can easily be carried in a pocket or clipped onto your belt.
This allows you to receive alerts even when out of earshot of the receiver in your house.
It also records the date, time and zone of every alert made.
The Dakota Alert WMA-3000 wireless driveway alarm is a snap to install.
Transmitters operate with a 9-volt battery, are made for harsh weather conditions and can easily be attached to a wall, post or tree.
The receiver plugs into any household electric outlet and can be set to produce different sounding alarms for each zone covered.
Accessories such as sirens, loud bells and automatic dialers can also be added onto the system.
It's a very good unit.
There are lots of user reviews available online.
Reading some of these might be helpful.
