- 1). Go through boxes and other packaging that may contain silica packets. Gather together all the silica packets that you find.
- 2). Open the packets and remove the small gel spheres. Accumulate the silica into a pile. If a small child or pet should reach inside the trash bin and obtain the silica packets, they will be empty and not pose such a threat.
- 3). Throw the empty packets and accumulated gel pieces away in a trash bin. Since these components are non-toxic, there are no special methods of disposal that need to be followed.
