- 1). Water the vegetable garden the day before you spray with halosulfuron.
- 2). Cover the vegetable plants directly adjacent to the target plant(s) to minimize the chance of accidental spray. Drought-stressed plants are more susceptible to injury from accidental herbicide spray.
- 3). Mix the appropriate amount of halosulfuron, water and nonionic surfactant according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- 4). Spray the individual weed plants early or late in the day (when the sun and the temperature are at their lowest) on a day with little to no wind. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for application rates and amounts.
- 5). Wait 48 hours before watering your vegetable garden again. Wait four weeks before planting any vegetable seeds or transplants.
