- 1). Open the tailgate to reveal the taillight retaining screws near the tailgate latch.
- 2). Remove the two screws with a Phillips screwdriver in a counterclockwise direction. Place the screws aside.
- 3). Grasp the taillight assembly and pull it straight out of the rear fender. Do not let the taillight assembly drop or the bulb wiring still attached to the rear of it may be damaged.
- 4). Remove the three lamp sockets from the rear of the taillight assembly by twisting each one in a counterclockwise direction while pulling straight out of the taillight.
- 5). Insert the bulb sockets into the replacement taillight assembly and twist them in a clockwise direction until locked into place. Make sure the stop and taillight bulb is at the top, the turn signal bulb in the center position and the backup light bulb is at the bottom.
- 6). Push the taillight back into the rear fender cavity. Replace the two retaining screws. Repeat all above steps to replace the other taillight, if desired. Close the tailgate.
