- The six-cylinder engine uses different sensors from the eight-cylinder version. Because the eight-cylinder engine's sensors utilize different wiring to connect to the electrical control unit (ECU), wiring adapters must be spliced into the ECU wiring for compatibility.
- The increase in power and weight produced by the eight-cylinder engine requires the accommodation of a stiffer suspension. Front and rear springs, shocks and sway bars need to be upgraded.
- The added weight and power from the eight-cylinder engine require the upgrade of the stock brakes. Stock brakes do not have the performance to stop a heavier and more powerful engine, such as the eight-cylinder. As a result, it is unsafe to upgrade the engine without upgrading the brakes.
