- 1). Jack the Altima up with the lifting jack from the tire maintenance kit in the trunk with the spare tire. Support the Nissan with jack stands placed under the frame at the front of the vehicle.
- 2). Remove the lug nuts on the front wheels with the lug wrench from the trunk. Grab the tires and take them off the wheel bolts. Lay the tires flat on the ground with the rims facing upward.
- 3). Remove the two 19 mm bolts on the back of the caliper with a socket and ratchet.
- 4). Pull the caliper from the bridge on the rotor.
- 5). Remove the two bolts on the caliper bridge with an Allen wrench. Pull the bridge from the rotor and set it and the bolts aside.
- 6). Pull the rotor from the steering knuckle. Tap the rotor with a hammer to remove the disc. Do not strike the outer surface of the rotor if you plan to use it again; tap the inner ring to loosen the rotor.
- 7). Clean the new rotor with brake cleaner and wipe it clean with a towel. New rotors are shipped with a preserving oil that should be removed before installing them.
- 8). Place the rotor onto the wheel bolts with the raised center section facing outward.
- 9). Replace the caliper bridge onto the rotor then replace the bolts. Tighten both bolts with the Allen wrench.

Place the caliper onto the bridge and screw in the two caliper bolts with the 19 mm socket and ratchet. - 11
Place the front wheels onto the Altima's wheel bolts and screw on the lug nuts. - 12
Remove the jack stands and lower the Nissan with the jack. Tighten the lug nuts on the Altima's front wheels with the lug wrench.
