- 1). Park your EZ Go golf cart on a flat and level area. A hard surfaced area such as a driveway or other similar area is a good choice.
- 2). Check the tire pressure on all four tires with a tire gauge. Refer to the tire manufacturers recommended air pressure located on the tire itself. Use a hand air pump or small air compressor to inflate the tire to the correct pressure. An under inflated tire can place more strain on the batteries and also cause a decrease in power.
- 3). Lift the seat of your EZ Go cart to access the batteries. Examine the battery terminals for signs of corrosion, loose terminal connections and damaged cables. Brush corrosion from the terminals with a stiff brush. Tighten loose terminal connections with an adjustable wrench. Use electrical tape to wrap any damaged, cut or nicked wire covering.
- 4). Remove the water fill caps, if possible, and check the water level in each battery cell compartment. Add distilled water only to fill and level each compartment. Low water levels in the battery cells can prevent the batteries from properly charging and holding a charge.
- 5). Inspect the wiring of the cart where it is accessible. Pay particular attention to the wiring terminals at the key switch, light switch and forward and reverse selector. Adjust any loose connections with a screwdriver and wrap any damaged wires with electrical tape.
