In examining the photo, I noticed that there were striking similarities between the child on the right and the child on the left -- perhaps too similar. So I cut out the image of the child on the right and superimposed it on the child on the left. The result is the animated image above, which toggles between a closeup of the child on the left and then with the other image superimposed on top of it.
I did not alter the shape or size of the superimposed image.
It becomes clear that this might be the very same child:
If they are images of the same child, how is it possible that he appears in two places in the same photo, especially when different parts of his body are obscured by different gravestones? This again raises the possibility of digital manipulation after the fact. But if there was no digital alteration, as the photographer claims, could this be the result of a camera anomaly, malfunction or double exposure (which digital cameras are not supposed to allow)?
If, as the cemetery legend suggests, these are two different ghosts, how is it that one so precisely mimics the other?
There's one more element in the photo worth examining....

It becomes clear that this might be the very same child:
- The size is exactly the same.
- They appear to be wearing the same clothing.
- Most significant, the orientation of their bodies -- head, shoulder, body -- are identical. This would be highly unlikely if the images were of two different individuals, ghosts or not.
