Forgiveness Collage Ideas

    Artistic Mediums

    • You can delve into all types of artistic mediums as you design a forgiveness collage. This gives you an opportunity to explore methods you may not have worked with previously. These can include stamping, ink, painting, decoupage, layering, adding fabric and using all types of embellishments such as ribbon, brads, buttons, flowers and stickers. Colors contribute to the mood of the forgiveness collage as well.

    Spiritual Examples

    • Spiritual examples also offer a model of forgiveness. You can include a picture of a child praying or one of a spiritual leader. The ever-popular spiritual picture of an angel also provides another strong image of the forgiveness theme. By varying the size and intensity of the examples, this will help you define their role in your collage, and by extension, in your life.

    Images and Photographs

    • Your own photographs can serve as important focal points in your forgiveness collage. You can certainly include photographs of those you have already forgiven. You can also include images such as butterflies, doves, flowers, shelter, a home, or any type of peaceful scene from nature.

    Quotes

    • Quotes inspire the viewer and remind her of her values and what's important to her in the long run, including the motivation for forgiveness. See resources for quotes suggestions on forgiveness. Be creative as you apply the quote. Type it out in a large font and cut the words into strips or even into phrases or single words; then adhere the quote to the collage. Don't worry about layering the quote over another image -- there is no right or wrong way to create a collage.

    Journaling

    • In addition to quotes from others, journaling your own thoughts or feelings regarding forgiveness offer another point of view on the subject. Sometimes, even one or two words, such as "hard" or "years" convey powerful emotions connected with the topic. If your own thoughts are still too personal, consider including an envelope or a spot for hidden journaling. Another option is to journal on the back of the collage.
