- 1). Visit Elf Bowling on Yahoo! Games (see Resources). Yahoo! has teamed up with NStorm to create this version of Elf Bowling, and it is only available through their website. Perform a search within the game site for "Elf Bowling 7" or scroll through the "Sports" category to find the game.
- 2). Purchase the full version of the game or try a free trial. The free trial lasts for 60 minutes of playing time and displays ads after each completed game. Click on the appropriate link and download the installation package. When the download is complete, double-click the "Install" icon.
- 3). Follow the installation directions. Check the box to place an icon on the desktop, agree to Yahoo!'s terms and press the "Install" button to process the installation. The game will automatically load once installation has completed.
- 4). Create a custom player to start the game. Type the player's name in the first box. Select an avatar for the player; these include Santa, an elf, Mrs. Claus, a shark, a polar bear and a snowman, among others. Select the style ball for that player. There are many designs, including other holidays like Halloween. Press "OK" when the player creation has completed.
- 5). Click the "Bowl" icon to start a new game. The game features four game modes: "Multiplayer," "Story Mode," "Single Player" and "Vs Computer." Each mode is basically the same, but they all open up new balls and levels depending on how well you play.
- 6). Start a bowling game. If you are in "Story Mode," you must watch the animations first to understand the story behind Elf Bowling. The default lane is the "Toy Factory," but players can also open up the "Iceberg" and "Dingle's Yacht" bowling lanes.
- 7). Use your mouse to line up the ball on the lane. Click and move the mouse up to see the power meter. Let go of the mouse's button to release the ball. Move the mouse left and right to steer the ball on the lane until it crashes into the elves. When it hits, elves will fly through the air and fall to the ground. Click once to start the next shot.
- 8). Collect power ups and avoid the "Elves' Tricks." They can put oil on the lane, a magnet to move your ball and other things that you must steer around to hit the elves. You can also pick up bonuses if you run the ball through them on the lane. Bonuses include a double-sized ball, an exploding ball and a gutter remover.
- 9). Play 10 frames and try to get the high score. For "Story Mode," you must beat a set score to move on.
