Indiana has many model car clubs to join. Whether you are a model builder or prefer to buy your model car, there is a club for you. The clubs feature full-sized indoor and outdoor tracks and cater to cars that range from the simplest tabletop models to the near go-kart-sized Indy racers. The clubs won't be hard to find either since there are locations throughout the state. - If living in the central part of Indiana, a model car enthusiast can find help and friends at the Hoosier Model Car Association. It is a small club of about 20 members as of mid-2010 and has modest yearly dues of $12. A monthly newsletter is included with the membership. The appealing feature of this club is that it accepts both builders and collectors, holds the largest yearly swap meet in Indiana and sponsors regular races in the area. This club deals mainly with the standard radio-controlled model cars with which most laypersons would be familiar and runs on a quarter-mile carpeted indoor track.

317-322-1852 - In southern Indiana, REO Raceway is operated by a group of enthusiasts and sponsors a very informal club. It is the only indoor, off-road RC Nitro racing facility in the state where both strictly radio-controlled cars and models that use nitro-quality fuel are run. While there isn’t any official membership, the group is very active and has a very busy forum on the Internet. Racing events are held here year-round and you become part of the racing community when you walk through the door.

http://www.reoraceway.com/ - This club has been in existence since 1988 and caters to the larger-sized model cars that are only slightly smaller than go-karts. This is a very serious organization that holds highly competitive races and is operated more as a profession than a hobby. It is for the very serious Indy quarter scale car owner. The speedway is in Ingalls and has a full-sized and fully equipped outdoor track. The club is run by a governing body and offers a newsletter and a very impressive website which gives a detailed history of the club, a listing of the leading drivers and their current amassed points and a complete rundown of the yearly championship racing series dating back to 2003.
