- 1). Fill the torque converter with at least one quart of transmission fluid. To fill the converter, simply lay it on the floor with the flat face down and pour transmission fluid into the transmission input socket of the converter.
- 2). Slide the torque converter onto the transmission input shaft. Rotate the converter back and forth as you push it into the transmission to engage the outer input shaft, inner lockup shaft, and front pump. You should hear three distinct clicks as each one is engaged.
- 3). Align the flywheel mounting holes with the holes on the face of the torque converter. Install and tighten all three grade eight bolts to 46 foot pounds.
